“Godzilla” is back. In style. Al SEMA Show in Las Vegas – the most important fair in the world for tuning enthusiasts -, one of the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 most exclusive in the world.

Made by the Japanese tuner Built by Legendsit is a restomod, which retains practically every aspect of the legendary JDM from the late 90s and an even more powerful engine.

This dream specimen, however, is certainly not for everyone: to take it home you need at least 450,000 dollars (approximately 400.000 euro).

New “bones” for the icon

Like many restomods, the one from Built by Legends is also based on a donor car. This is completely dismantled by Japanese technicians, col chassis which is restored and strengthened to adapt it to increased power and modern standards. Subsequently, we work on the suspension sector, with updated and higher-performance components compared to the standard ones.

Now it’s a 650 HP monster

Opening the hood reveals other changes. The original RB26 engine was replaced by an MB7 made by MINEa 2.8 twin-turbo inline six-cylinder combined with a 6-speed manual gearbox from Getrag. To complete everything there is also a carbon intake system and a customized control unit, which contribute to raising the bar to 650 CV compared to the 280 HP of the standard model.

The interior of the Nissan has also been revised, with black and blue moldings, Nappa leather and Alcantara seats and aluminum pedals. Overall, however, the instrumentation is still the same as in the late ’90s.

If you have already fallen in love with the restomod, know that the bill to pay is quite high. Once you have found the donor Skyline (with used examples that have constantly growing valuations and have now reached at least 70,000-100,000 euros in Europe), you will need at least another 400,000 euros for all the work.
