The richest French family “enters” football

The richest family in France, Arno, has announced that it is planning to buy the football second division Paris, with ambitions to permanently establish that club in the first division.

The majority shareholder of the club will be the Agače company, which is owned by the Arno family, while the minority share will be held by the Red Bull company.

“The history and development of Paris Football Club embodies a completely different aspect of football in the capital. “With the arrival of the Agače company as the majority shareholder, the club will gain a new dimension with new goals and criteria for success,” the Agače company said in a statement.

The Arno family is expected to buy 55 percent of the shares, from Red Bull 15 percent, while the current owner Piero Ferraci, who will remain the president of the club, is expected to keep the rest of the shares for himself.

The press release does not state the specific value of the contract, but the Agache company announced that it will “provide the club with the necessary resources” and that it wants to “establish a men’s and women’s team among the elite of French football and in the hearts of Parisians.”

The Red Bull company, which this month hired former Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp to oversee the work of the clubs it owns, will primarily have the role of advisor for sports issues, while Agache will deal with the team’s finances and branding.

Paris, which was founded in 1969, has not achieved any significant success in its history, and currently occupies the first place in the table of the French second division. The women’s team of Paris plays in the first division of France.

Bernard Arnault, the owner of the LVMH company, is at the very top of the Forbes list of the richest people in the world, with a fortune that exceeds 150 billion dollars.

His son Antoine, who will be the family’s representative on the board of directors of Paris, said that “football has always been their passion” and that he “hopes that in time they will together write a new and exciting chapter in French football.”
