In June this year, a quite interesting adventure game, The Case of the Golden Idol, was released on iOS devices via Netflix. Now it has a sequel, titled The Rise of the Golden Idol, also available on iOS and macOS.
The original The Case of the Golden Idol was a detective adventure combining a retro style with a quite inventive and innovative approach to puzzles. In the game, we played the role of a detective dealing with a series of related murders that occurred over several decades. By examining crime scenes and analyzing the clues found there, we obtained words that we then placed in empty spaces in sentences, thus creating hypotheses about how the murder occurred. The Rise of the Golden Idol follows roughly the same idea, offering players another 15 crime mysteries to solve. The action of the second part takes place in the 1970s, i.e. three hundred years after the events presented in the first part.
The Rise of the Golden Idol game for iOS is available for download from App Store for free, but an active Netflix account is required to play it. The macOS version can be purchased in the store Steamwhere it currently costs PLN 82.79.
