The Russian foreign ministry spoke about the US presidential election + video

In the United States, the presidential election was held yesterday, where at the same time, not only the new president, but also the composition of the Congress and the governor positions of several states are elected. The race between the two presidential candidates, Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris, is already generating unprecedented tension in American society.

Marija Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized in an interview with RT Russian television:

America’s main problem now is how to get the results of the elections to be accepted by its own society, taking into account the experience of previous elections. Whatever the outcome, it’s clear that they will have to overcome their inner emotional divide.

The diplomat expressed concern about street violence and clashes over political symbols.

We can see that people are ready to attack and beat each other simply because someone wears the symbols of or campaigns for a politician they believe in and trust.

Zakharova said. He added that these incidents turn into street riots even before the elections, and they are not isolated cases.

Unmanageable situation in America

According to Zaharova, no one in the United States knows how to handle this unprecedented situation. The spokesman noted that the division of American society is to such an extent that, regardless of the outcome of the election, it will be a serious challenge to restore the country’s unity.

In this year’s election, former President Donald Trump will attempt to return to the White House after losing to Joe Biden in 2020. Against his opponent, current Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump’s campaign and rhetoric remain divisive, which only increases social tensions.

The statement of the Russian diplomat highlights that the outcome of the American elections and its consequences attract the attention not only of the United States, but also of the international community. The post-election period will be crucial in terms of how the new leadership is able to manage and alleviate the deepening social contradictions.
