Serbian motorist Dušan Borković finished his participation in the Uruguayan round of the FIA TCR World Series. He had a problem in the qualifications due to an unintentional mistake by the mechanic of the GOAT racing team in adjusting the balance bar, so he had to start from the 18th position in both races.
Our ace, after a series of contacts and a fierce fight, finished the first sprint on El Piñaro in 11th place. In the second race, he showed exceptional combativeness and skill, so he crossed the finish line in seventh place, and after the competitor’s penalty, he was ranked sixth.
“Turbulent racing weekend in Montevideo! The second race in Uruguay is one of the best races of my career! Technical problems in qualifying set me back, which is why I started in 18th position out of 25 competitors, the speed is there, and giving up was never an option. That’s why I did my best to make a turnaround and show that Serbia deserves a place in the top 10 at the World Cup. This way I want to thank my partners, family and fans and promise that I will continue to fight for my own,” said Borković.
The head of the team for which our runner is driving this season, Pepe Oriola, once again pointed out how satisfied he is with Borković’s performance:
“Borković once again proved why he is one of the best drivers in the world. The fact that he came from 18th to sixth position is really incredible, we are proud that he is part of our team. Despite the fact that the team made a mistake during the qualification, he did not lose heart and managed something that is not seen every day. We have big joint plans”.
Borković has two more race weekends before the end of the TCR World Series season. and the next round is in China, at the Zhuzhou track, from October 18 to 20.
