Doctors point out that the lack of information about the care that should be taken to prevent prostate cancer is worrying, and the measures that need to be taken, especially through dietary control, are vital to prevent this disease.

The connection between enlarged prostate symptoms and food may not cross your mind, but everything you eat affects your body.

Pumpkin seeds are recommended for men suffering from prostate or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). These seeds are full of important nutrients and health benefits include the ability to ensure restful sleep or a healthy heart.

Scientific research shows that these seeds are particularly beneficial for the health of the prostate, so, as a preventive measure, they are also recommended in the diet of men. They can be eaten raw, fried or in the form of oil.

Effective alternative treatment

Expert data shows that pumpkin seed oil relieves the symptoms of the disease. Scientists have concluded that pumpkin seed oil is a safe and effective alternative treatment for DPH.

One study found that pumpkin seed oil can block prostate growth through an enzyme called prazosin.

Data from a 2011 study showed that malignant prostate tissue in men with BPH contained less zinc than normal-sized prostate tissue. The study revealed increased levels of urinary zinc excretion.

Pumpkin seeds are also rich in zinc. One cup of seeds provides almost half of the recommended daily allowance of zinc. So doctors claim that, for example, eating pumpkin seeds several times a week can keep zinc levels in the body at a normal level.
