The shock of Storck’s sending off should shake Sepsi

We talked with the president-owner László Diószegi not only about the sending of the former Hungarian national team captain, but also about the termination of the contracts of the two former Hungarian national football players. Sepsi OSK is in a difficult situation, but the president is confident that the shock of the changes will reach the expected goal.

It seemed that everything was fine with Sepsi OSK, as the Triszék team started the championship with two wins and then took a point from Bucharest. However, after the 2-2 draw against Rapid, something broke in the team, four consecutive defeats followed, and OSK parted with two Hungarian players, Ákos Kecskés and Kevin Varga, for disciplinary reasons. Something had to be done.

“I have the final say, but only after I have discussed with everyone involved what they think is the right decision. Now we saw that the team needed a shock, so we decided to terminate Bernd Storck’s contract by mutual agreement,” said the president and owner of Sepsi OSK to the MOL Team. László Diószegi.

There were bad decisions

The president said that they parted ways with the former Hungarian national team captain, but he also did not deny that there were decisions in the summer that did not fulfill their expectations. They don’t want to beat the dust on the coach, but the great truth of football is that you can’t replace the team, but you have to replace it when there’s a big problem. But now there is a problem.

“The biggest problem is not the four defeats, but the game shown. It has to be said, in three of the four games the opponent won completely legitimately, maybe our performance was acceptable against Craiova, but we also lost to them at home.”

“I think the team is in the most difficult situation of the last six years. When we got to the top, we were even deeper than that, but it was different, since we were rookies. By now, we have established our footing in the first division and have even become a dominant team, so it is particularly painful to see that we have drifted into such a situation. We had to change, because there is no chance to make mistakes anymore, time is running out for repairs,” said Diószegi.

“We have to admit that we made mistakes in the summer. We were wrong about some players we thought would hit the level. This is our common mistake, since we didn’t bring a player that the coach didn’t look at, but unfortunately there are some that we sidestepped. We have to fix these problems now, for which we have a total of four days left.”

You need both a player and a coach

In the Romanian league, it is possible to register new players until midnight on Monday, September 9, and Sepsi OSK needs reinforcements not only because of the failed confirmations, but also because of the sending of the two Hungarian players. The work is progressing at full steam, the president reassured everyone that they are working on solving the problems.

“First of all, I must state that Kecskés and Varga were not sent away from the team by Storck. What happened was that they both broke the club’s internal regulations, and we cannot allow that to happen to anyone, so it was the club’s decision to terminate their contracts.”

“Players need to be replaced, so our goal is to sign at least 2-3 players in the remaining time of the transfer window. It is not true that this is hasty and there are no longer suitable characters on the market, because although time is running out, there are many football players who we feel would be a reinforcement for us,” said the president.

“Our goals have not changed, we want to get to the upper house! On the other hand, it must be said that due to the bad start we are already in a very difficult situation, more mistakes are definitely not possible. I believe that we will find the coach and the players with whom we will team up and fight for our place in the upper house,” he added determinedly.
