The shotgun was hidden in a wooded area in Zealand

A shotgun found in a forest area north of Slagelse has led to a 32-year-old man being taken into custody on Sunday.

This is stated by a prosecutor after a constitutional hearing held by the Court in Nykøbing Falster.

The man is accused of both transporting the firearm and storing it at his home. In addition, he must have ammunition for the weapon at his disposal.

It is a fully or partially automatic shotgun, says special prosecutor Lotte Nielsen from the South Zealand and Lolland-Falster Police.

The 32-year-old was arrested on Saturday. In the court hearing, before the doors were closed, it emerged that he pleads not guilty.

However, the judge has decided to remand him until November 21.

There is a well-founded suspicion, and the man at large will possibly put obstacles in the way of the police’s investigation, the judge assesses.
