The Slovak representative is leaving the Arab world. Agreed a contract with Apollon Limassol – Foreign leagues – Football

Slovak football representative Vernon de Marco is leaving Hatta Club from the UAE after one year. The 31-year-old defender headed to Cyprus, where he agreed on a contract until May 2026 with the Apollon Limassol team.

As reported by the club’s official website, de Marco should fly to Cyprus in the next few days, where he will undergo an entrance medical examination and then complete his arrival by signing a contract.

The originally Argentinian footballer played in Slovakia for MFK Zemplín Michalovce and ŠK Slovan Bratislava, in Poland he wore the jersey of Lech Poznaň.

With Slovan, he won the championship title four times and triumphed in the Slovak Cup three times. Last season, he played 21 matches for Hatta Club in the local Pro League.

De Marco obtained Slovak citizenship in May 2021 and could thus represent Slovakia on the international stage. He has 10 starts and one goal in the national team, he was also in the Slovak squad for EURO 2024, but he did not participate in the game.
