Slovenian footballers will face Norway in the League of Nations on Thursday.

In Group B3 in League B, Austria, Slovenia and Norway each have seven points, while Kazakhstan has one. It is already clear that Slovenia can no longer be last in the group and thus avoided a possible direct relegation to League C. First place leads to League A, second to qualifications for promotion to a higher rank, third to qualifications for survival.

In the last match between them in Oslo in October, Norway defeated Slovenia by two goals Erlinga Haaland in fact Alexandra Soerlotha won with 3:0. Slovenian football players are preparing for the match at the permanent base in Brdo pri Kranje.

“My childhood wish came true by being called up to the national team. I came prepared, but how much I will play depends on the coach. I will give my best in training, and then we will see,” said the rookie in the select line Svit Sešlar and assessed what will need to be improved compared to the previous game in Oslo. “We will have to go into the match more firmly, beat them up – in the traditional way – because it is not possible to play delicately with them, because they realistically have more quality than us. But if we stand up the way Slovenia has already shown that it can, then victory will remain in Slovenia,” said Sešlar.

Timi Max Elšnik only wants a win for Thursday’s showdown. “The Norwegians are a very physical team, especially in attack, as far as the analysis from the previous game is concerned, we were able to extract a lot. But the main thing is that we have to be aggressive, because they ‘ate’ us in Oslo in this respect,” he added, stressing that given the situation in the group, they are forced to attack for victory, but not headlong. He also added that the biggest motivation for him is to pay the Norwegians back for the defeat in Oslo. “And to be able to say that I beat Haaland,” he concluded.

The Slovenian team has met the Norwegians 12 times, recording two wins, three draws and seven defeats against them.
