Lexus LBX, the smallest model in the Japanese manufacturer’s range, has arrived in Romania. The new model was created with European customers in mind.
Lexus is entering the small SUV market with the new LBX, a model developed with the European market in mind, which will be positioned in the range below the Lexus UX.
The latest model of the Japanese measures 4.19 meters in length, 1.82 meters in width and 1.54 meters in height, while having a wheelbase of 2.6 meters, being built on the same platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross, for example . The smallest Lexus SUV is actually slightly larger than the Toyota Yaris Cross.
When it comes to design, it is clear that we are dealing with a new generation Lexus. The hourglass-shaped grille, sharp lines and modern shapes respect the new design philosophy of the Japanese manufacturer.
How much does the Lexus LBX cost in Romania?
Regardless of the chosen configuration, the new Lexus LBX will be equipped with a hybrid drive that uses a 1.5-liter, three-piston gasoline engine. It produces 136 hp and 185 Nm of maximum torque, values that allow the front-wheel drive version to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds.
All versions benefit from a MacPherson front suspension, while the rear uses a torsion bar for front-wheel drive models. All-wheel drive models will use a double wishbone suspension. Whichever variant you choose, all models are equipped with a CVT automatic transmission.
Even though we are dealing with the smallest model in the range, Lexus has ensured that the interior of its new model lives up to customer expectations. We had the top-of-the-line version, called Cool, which offers leather and microfiber upholstery, a power tailgate, a 13-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, and a driver’s seat with power adjustments and memory.
Last but not least, the small crossover enjoys a digital display for the driver, with a diagonal of 12.3 inches, which can be accompanied by an optional head-up display. In addition, the car’s infotainment system uses a screen with a diagonal of 9.8 inches.
In Romania, the new Lexus LBX has a starting price of 38,228 euros. A top variant, in Cool equipment, will have a list price of 43,455 euros.
