The Snap Tap function of Razer keyboards can be a salvation in Tac shooters

The development, which has already been tested by professionals, takes the burden off our shoulders during counter-strafing and can improve our hit rate.

Razer has announced that, in addition to the already proven Rapid Trigger, for its Huntsman V3 Pro series keyboards equipped with second-generation analog (optical) switches, it has made available the Snap Tap Mode named function.

The ability, which comes in the form of a firmware update, prioritizes the last pressed of two keys, and there is no need to release the first activated key. This may not sound too impressive at first, but in games where the accuracy of our shot depends a lot on whether we are moving or not (such as Counter Strike, Valorant), it can have a huge impact on the outcome of a fight.

The reason for this is to be found in the technique called counter-strafing, which is used to compensate for momentum and inertia arising from the physics of the engine during movement, and increases precision. Basically, the thing works in such a way that when moving in a certain direction, we release the relevant button for a moment and quickly hit the one belonging to the opposite direction, which results in an equalization in momentum. In addition to fast reflexes, this requires excellent timing, but in return it will be harder to hit us, while we can shoot with our virtual weapon with a smaller spread.

This is where the ominous Snap Tap comes into the picture, thanks to which we no longer need to stress so much about the story, since we do not have to release the first key in order for the second input signal (the opposite direction) to be registered. The efficiency of almost instantaneous changes of direction also lies in the fact that there is no longer the danger of slowing down too late to the desired extent – or, in the worst case, stopping completely.

The new software affects all three Huntsman V3 Pro keyboards (numeric pad, TKL, and 60 percent version), however, for the firmware it is essential that Synapse installed on our system is up-to-date, and we also keep in mind that the drivers are constantly updated on the to the product pages of peripherals, so if it is not yet accessible to ours, it is advisable to try again in a few days.
