An investigation is ongoing regarding the body of retired Selçuk University Professor Dr. Selahattin Doludeniz, who was found in a plastic barrel at a garbage dump in Mersin last Saturday.
The procedures for the academic’s son O., who was detained as part of the investigation, were completed at the police station today. Following the procedures, the suspect, who was referred to court on charges of “deliberate murder”, was arrested.
‘When I got home he was dead’
According to İHA, it was learned that in his first statement to the police, the suspect said that he had been on bad terms with his father for a while, so he left home for a short time, and when he returned, he found his father dead at home, put his body in a bin and left it in a taxi cab at the garbage dump in Bozyazı.
Forensic medicine will find the exact cause
While no traces of a piercing or cutting tool were found in the initial examination of the body, it was stated that the cause of death will be determined after the forensic examination.
