The St. Petersburg Legislative Council approved the city budget for the next year

In the final, third reading, the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly adopted the city budget for 2025 and the planning period 2026–2027.

43 deputies voted for the law, two were against, and two more abstained.

According to the project, next year the city’s treasury revenues will amount to 1.33 trillion rubles, expenses – 1.49 trillion rubles. The budget deficit will amount to 163.1 billion rubles. In 2026, the deficit is planned at 1.536 billion rubles, in 2027 – at 1.72 billion rubles.

Let us note that in the second reading amendments on the expenditure of funds were adopted. It was planned to increase spending on supporting SVO participants and their families, on medical insurance, salaries for public sector employees and housing and communal services, spending on repairs and equipment of health care institutions, as well as on housing payments to those on the waiting list who do not have the status of beneficiaries. Planned budget revenues have also increased. No amendments were received for the third reading.
