The State Duma commented on the situation with fraud in the IT sector –

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications Andrei Svintsov commented on the situation with fraud in the IT sector.

“The State Duma is systematically addressing the issue related to the fight against fraudsters. We have now adopted a number of laws that limit the maximum opportunities for fraudsters to purchase various “gray” SIM cards issued to someone unknown, to use various IT infrastructure for making calls, sending letters, and so on,” he said in an interview with the radio station “Moscow speaks”.

According to him, parliamentarians will continue to tighten the opportunities for fraudsters to use IT infrastructure.

“Various types of anti-spam, anti-fraud systems – all this is also being installed, it is gradually moving, but that’s why scammers are scammers, they are always coming up with something, they also do not sit idly by. We are fighting this, the law enforcement system is fighting this,” Svintsov said.

He added that the remaining loopholes will be closed as quickly as possible.

Earlier, cybersecurity expert and information security director of Element PJSC Alexander Dvoryansky noted the interest of Russians in increasing cyber literacy.
