State Duma deputy, member of the Budget and Taxes Committee Nikita Chaplin, in a conversation with RT, spoke about changes in pension payments in the new year.
“It is expected that the average old-age insurance pension in 2025 will be 24,059.12 rubles. The pension point, in turn, will increase from 133.05 to 142.76 rubles. The automatic resumption of indexation of pensions for working pensioners starting in 2025 will be especially important,” Chaplin noted.
In addition, he clarified that from April 2025, social pensions will increase by 14.75% and their average size by the end of 2025 will reach 15,456 rubles.
“The size of the insurance pension is determined as the product of the accumulated pension coefficients by their value when assigning a pension, with the addition of a fixed payment, which will amount to 8,728.73 rubles from January 2025. Thus, the size of a pension with 30 pension points will approach 13 thousand rubles,” Chaplin added.
He also recalled that in 2025 no one will reach retirement age (we are talking about pensions upon reaching age). However, women born in 1966 and men born in 1961 who did not have time to retire in 2024 (for example, if their birthday is at the end of the year) automatically postpone their retirement to 2025.
“Preferential categories of citizens will also be able to retire in 2025. Age, field of activity and having many children remain important factors allowing early retirement. Teachers and doctors, for example, are entitled to a pension after reaching 25-30 years of experience, mothers of many children can go on vacation several years earlier, and women and men working in difficult conditions – at 55 and 60 years old, respectively,” the deputy noted.
He also clarified that if you have significant experience, it is possible to receive a pension early for two years.
“Veterans and liquidators have the right to a double pension in accordance with federal law. Pilots, astronauts and military personnel are also among the beneficiaries. Since 2019, rural residents with at least 30 years of work experience can count on a 25% bonus when living in the agricultural sector,” Chaplin concluded.
