The stone of this fruit produces the best antioxidant drink and, in addition, it is good for colds

In this period of cold and virus circulation, we can’t say no to an invigorating hot drink. And that’s exactly what Hannah Jago, a British wellness specialist, offers, who shares on social networks a very special recipe for an anti-oxidant drink, perfect for the winter months.

She prepares this hot drink regularly during the virus season because it helps fight colds. No, it is not the very classic grog against the flu or even a herbal tea made from thyme, but an infusion with avocado pit, quite unexpected it must be admitted.

How to prepare an avocado pit infusion?

After removing the stone from the fruit and washing it, Hannah Jago puts it in a saucepan with 400 ml of water, and brings everything to the boil. Then she lets it infuse for a few minutes and removes the outer membrane from the core as soon as it comes off. She lets the kernel steep for another 5 minutes, which turns the water a deep red color.

She pours everything into a cup and lets it cool slightly before adding a teaspoon of honey because the drink is too bitter to drink as is. “It’s a really antioxidant-packed drink and amazing when you feel like you’ve caught a cold,” she explains.

Whether it’s an infusion with an avocado pit, a broth or simply a glass of water, drinking more than usual is important during colds because it helps thin nasal secretions and soothe the throat. But a hot drink is preferable because it brings immediate comfort thanks to its soothing effect.
