The story of the song ‘Give me back my girl’

Los Men G have been having a good time in ‘Babylon Show’, where they spoke to us about their professional career with more than 4000 concerts behind them, in which they have no shortage of anecdotes, which they have reviewed in our program.

One of the things I remembered David Summers with Carlos Latre from the legendary song ‘Devuélveme a mi chica’ that everyone knows and that was released in 1985.

David Summers recalled that he wrote this song because of something he experienced firsthand: “I don’t know if the yellow jersey was very posh, but it was the real posh of the real story because it’s a song that is based on a story that happened to me and that’s why I wrote the song. The royal posh boy had a yellow jersey and he had a white Ford Fiesta, it’s not that all the posh people had this, it’s that he had this.”

David Summers: “Those were my motivations at that time to make songs”

He also told us that he composed this song to sing in front of his partner and at one of his concerts: “We were going to play, someone told me “He said the girl was coming to the concert with her new boyfriend and I wrote the song to sing it to them that night and piss them off, that’s what I wanted. Those were my motivations at that time to make songs.”

As he also revealed on ‘Babylon Show’ when asked by Carlos Latre what happened to this couple to whom he dedicated the song. “They got married”, David Summers told us.
