The Supervisory Board of the DPP will deal with new accusations at an extraordinary meeting

Prague – Due to current allegations of corruption in the awarding of public contracts, the company’s supervisory board will hold an extraordinary meeting at the headquarters of the Prague Transport Company (DPP) today at 2:00 p.m. According to the statement of the chairman of the council and the deputy mayor for transport Zdeňko Hřib (Pirates), he will deal, for example, with the termination of the functions of the accused members of the board of directors or the announcement of a selection process for the general director. Mayor Bohuslav Svoboda (ODS) also called for both councils. In the morning, the councilors of the capital will also meet, who should also deal with the situation in the company.

The High Prosecutor’s Office in Prague announced a week ago that it had indicted 13 natural and legal persons for bribery offenses related to the performance of public contracts, according to the Seznam Zprávy server, the number of accused then increased to 14. Among the names are, among others, members of the company’s board of directors, Marek Kopřiva and Jiří Špička and also a member of the supervisory board, Jan Marek, who has already resigned from his position.

DPP fully owns the capital and is managed by a five-member board of directors, whose chairman is the company’s CEO, Petr Witowski. The board of directors is supervised by a fifteen-member supervisory board, made up of representatives of the parties of the Prague council. She also elects and summons the members of the board of directors. Hřib demands, among other things, the resignation of Witowski, who is not accused and denies that there is a reason for his termination. According to him, if the company announces a tender for a new director, he will apply for it.
