The Svetosava Ball in Vienna will be dedicated to a single mother with three daughters

Organized by the Serbian Center from Vienna, on January 31, 2025, the traditional 26th Saint Sava Ball will be held in the heart of the Austrian capital in the magnificent Hofburg Palace, with the aim of raising funds for the purchase and adaptation of a new home for single mother Ljiljana and her three daughters.

Every year, the Svetosava Ball in Vienna aims to highlight the activities of a humanitarian organization. At the upcoming ball, the partner will be the humanitarian organization Serbs for Serbs, which has been known for almost two decades as a synonym for transparency, and which will implement the aid project for the Dukić family from Obrenovac.

Ljiljana, a single mother, has been facing numerous life challenges for a long time.

“A child’s illness is something that paralyzes you as a parent. It’s not pleasant to go through even the most common viral colds that a child gets, not to mention the suffering related to permanent and more serious illnesses, which you will face throughout your life,” said Ljiljana during her first visit to the Serbian Center and the Humanitarian Organization Serbs for Serbs. and pointed out numerous health problems that her daughter Iva is facing.

“If we were to dare to rank the life problems of a family, then certainly the unsolved housing issue arises right after the child’s illness as something that affects the quality of life every day and troubles both parents and children. That’s why we decided to direct the funds from the next Svetosavki ball to this wonderful family,” said Milan Vidović from the Serbian Center.

This year, the organizers introduced the possibility of early reservation of tickets, which allowed guests to secure their place from the beginning of August. By the beginning of October, when the official sale of tickets began, there were about 1,600 reservations, and those who booked their tickets first were contacted first. After all of them were informed, ticket sales continued through the online platform on the official website. By buying a ticket, you directly support the project to help the Dukić family and become part of their future home.

The ball will take place in 14 different halls of the Hofburg Palace. In 6 halls, a diverse musical program will be presented, while in the other 9 halls, various historical and entertainment settings will be presented. The total capacity of the ball is 2,500 participants with 1,600 seats.

The concept of Viennese balls implies that guests move freely around the entire space, exploring the various musical and artistic programs that will be offered during the event. In addition to the wonderful musical and artistic content, the ball will also provide a unique opportunity to network with other guests, as well as to enjoy one of the most prestigious events of the Serbian diaspora, which celebrates our culture.

The fact that this year they will introduce two program novelties shows that the organizers are thinking of all the guests:

• Agape hall: This hall will be in bohemian style, and famous tambura groups from Serbia will perform in it.
• Forum: A club atmosphere will be organized in this hall with a DJ and a concert by a rock group from Serbia.

In addition to highlighting the significant activities of the humanitarian organization Serbs for Serbs, which operates on the territory of the entire Balkans, the Svetosava Ball in Vienna also aims to highlight a Serbian municipality and its tourist attractions. At the next ball, the partner will be the Municipality of Svilajnac, and in one of the halls there will be an exhibition that glorifies the beauty of Serbia with an emphasis on the tourist offer and the economic potential of Svilajnac.

All participants of the ball will be announced by the end of November, but what we now know for sure is that the special guests of the 26th Svetosava Ball in Vienna will be Ljiljana, Slavica, Iva and Katarina, which will also be their first trip together in their lives.
