He had died recently, so much so that all his personal effects were still inside: but this did not prevent a man from trying to occupy his house together with his youngest daughter, then threatening to commit suicide when the police arrived. An attempt thwarted by the Local Police of Naples, who had already sealed the building for some previous attempts at occupation. The incident occurred on via Antonio Villari, in the Materdei district of Naplesand sees as protagonists a man, reported after the eviction, and his minor daughter.
The tenant of the house, which is owned by the Municipality of Naples, recently died and this has made the apartment “attractive” for the many who try to occupy homes in the city of Naples. In fact, other attempts had already been foiled by the police. The latest in chronological order is the one that occurred in the last few hours: the man forced the seals and entered the apartment, where the police found him. At the sight of them, however, the man he threatened suicideor even going so far as to inflict cuts on his left forearm. The police intervention prevented the worst: having stopped the blood flow, the officers calmed the man and his youngest daughter, and then took him to Vecchio Pellegrini, where he is being treated for the wounds he inflicted on himself. In the meantime, the man has been reported for illegal occupation, damage and violation of the seals, while the tools he had used to enter the house were seized, where the seals were re-applied.
