The Tesla Model Y was the best-selling car in September in Europe

Autumn was marked by a popular electric bestseller. The best-selling car in Europe last month was the Model Y, with 28,680 units sold, which is a surprising figure after the general gloom for electric cars this year. However, the Dacia Sandero remains at the top of overall European sales this year.

The recovery of the electric vehicle market is very slow. Despite the difficult period for battery vehicles, customers still trust Tesla the most, he says Klix.ba.

In accordance with such a mood, the Model Y, in addition to being the most requested electric car in the first autumn month, was also the best-selling model in Europe in September. It can be said that it was a kind of return of the written off, considering that the Model Y was the best-selling car on the European and world market last year.

Thus, in September, European buyers registered as many as 28,680 copies of the Model Y. This is an extraordinary result, considering that the second position in September sales, with almost 8,000 deliveries less, was the Volkswagen Tiguan with 20,763 units delivered, and the winning podium was completed by the Renault Clio with 20,306 copies sold.

The overall leader of this year’s sales in Europe – Dacia Sandero, was the fourth most requested car last month (19,346 units were sold). The affordable Romanian hatchback remains at the top of total sales in the first nine months with as many as 203,474 units, which is an increase of 16.4 percent compared to the same period in 2023.

In this context, with a difference of more than 38,000 copies compared to the VW Golf (165,370 copies sold) and more than 41,000 compared to the Renault Clio (162,021 copies), the main competitors for the title of the best-selling car at the end of the year, the Sandero has a great chance to 2024 finished the year in first place on the sales chart in Europe. If that happens, it would be the first year in Europe that a Dacia model took the prestigious title of best seller. We will definitely find out soon.
