Her report “Jungle” about the third-world conditions that prevail outside the General Oncology Hospital of Kifissia “Agioi Anargyri”, there was extensive discussion between the doctors and patients of the institution and everyone expected that the complaints that saw the light of day, would sensitize the authorities in order to take the necessary meters, especially in view of a period where bad weather and rains are a frequent phenomenon.
We remind that the “Jungle” had highlighted the suffering of cancer patients, since, for unknown and unexplained reasons, the bus that travels from the ISAP station of Kifissia to “Agioi Anargyroi” stopped outside the hospital and dropped off the patients 400 meters away.

Thus, sick and vulnerable people are required to walk hundreds of meters in order to reach the hospital, exposed to the weather conditions and many times – as in the previous days – to the heavy rain. A needless inconvenience, which could have been avoided simply if there had been the elementary sensitivity, the bus dropped them off a little further.
And as if that’s not enough, on their way out they are forced to wait at a stop that looks more like a stable than a bus stop, in front of an oncology hospital, in a European capital. After all, they call it “stasi – stani” among themselves, trying to make fun of their difficult fate. They can hardly sit inside because of the stench, while there are few seats outside and most are forced to wait standing.

The situation worsened
So instead of, after the complaints were made public, there would be some – even elementary – improvement in the situation, some people took care to intervene to make it… worse.
In the stop – shame some small stools that were there were removed and put in… a broken office chair! Which, because it is canvas, gets watered by the rain that drips from the rough canopy, as a result of which it takes several days for it to dry.
Thinking that… two tires are not enough to sit all the patients waiting at the end, they made sure to place a… wood between them, to create more seats.

Another canvas chair came to replace an improvised seat, in the courtyard of the “stable”, which is probably a visual intervention, since again during this period it is permanently wet.
In the previous days, the suffering of immunocompromised patients, who were forced to walk hundreds of meters in the rain and cold, reached its peak again. In fact, as they complain to “Jungle”they could not even wait inside the improvised stop – “stable”, as a drug addict who was in a miserable condition had taken refuge there.
As long as this suffering of the patients continues and the embarrassing situation for everyone, outside the General Oncology Hospital of Kifissia “Agioi Anargyroi”, the “Jungle” will be here to document the basic lack of empathy on the part of those in charge. Until they decide to do the obvious…
