American director, screenwriter, actor and versatile artist David Lynch died at the age of 78. His family confirmed the sad news on social networks. Lynch became an icon of world cinema and became famous for his unique style full of the supernatural, mystery and felt emotions. Perhaps his most famous work is the cult series Twin Peaks, which influenced the very form of television production for many years to come.
Lynch was not only a director, but also a screenwriter, painter, musician and composer. Throughout his career, he has received Academy Award nominations in the Best Director category for his films The elephant man, Blue velvet a Mulholland Drive.
In 2024, Lynch admitted that he had been diagnosed with a chronic lung disease, specifically emphysema, which ultimately took his life. Although his passing is a great loss to the world of film and art, his works will continue to inspire generations of filmmakers and viewers.
