The Toyota Land RAV4 gets a digital makeover that turns the Japanese crossover into a mini Land Cruiser.
Toyota ended last year as the world’s largest car manufacturer, and this is not without reason, given the wide range of models it sells around the world.
One of the most popular models in the Toyota portfolio is the RAV4 crossover, which already has a 30-year history on the market, with the first generation launched in 1994 in Japan.
Today, the current generation has grown considerably, being one of the most sought-after family models, offering space, efficiency and an attractive package of equipment and options, but it is not a true off-roader, like the Land Cruiser, for example.
But that can change, at least in the digital medium, with a little imagination, and the RAV4 can be infused with some off-road DNA from its big brother.
Toyota RAV4, now with Land Cruiser genes
If you ever asked yourself the question – What would the crossover between two of the most popular SUVs/crossovers of the moment look like? – these renderings could be the answer.
The digital artist behind the YouTube channel Evren Ozgun Spy Sketch has come up with a new take on what the next generation Toyota RAV4 could look like.
It took many design elements from the Toyota Land Cruiser 250, a model that is also sold in Europe, part of the smaller branch of the Land Cruiser range, which many enthusiasts also know as the Prado. Unlike the Land Cruiser 300, the full-size model, the 250 version is more compact and focused a bit more on the utilitarian character, robust, but less on luxury.
Thus, the car imagined by the artist is a mix of the features and proportions of a traditional crossover and design elements borrowed from the newest generation Land Cruiser. The RAV4 thus becomes much more square, and the LED light blocks make it look a lot like the Land Cruiser. However, efficiency was taken into account, given the door handles hidden in the body. We also see that off-road ability wasn’t a priority, something betrayed by the generous-diameter rims and narrow-tread tires.
