The Tripoli railway station turns into a summer cinema for one night

The OSE continues to show films in selected railway stations of the country with the aim of reviving them, attracting local communities back to the railway, which was part of their daily life in the past.

For one night, the stations are transformed into summer cinemas. So after Karditsa, it’s Arcadia’s turn on Sunday, July 28, where the president of the OSE, Mr. Giannos Grammatidis, will be present to watch the film at the Tripoli Railway Station, at 9 p.m., who will address a greeting referring to ongoing project of restructuring the Greek railway.

Local organizations and all the Mass Media of the region are invited to this event.

It is noted that the action “Cinema o Stathmos” is being organized for the third year. On the subject of modern Greek cinema, films are shown in non-active railway stations, with some of their actors invited.

For this year the route included three cities, which the promotion team had not visited until now: Elefsina, former European Capital of Culture, Ancient Olympia, year of the Olympic Games / Touch of the Olympic Flame and Karditsa. The fourth city, Tripoli, was chosen again, to show a film, shot in the city, with the participation of the local community.

The goal of the new leadership of the OSE, with the evolution of energy, and the revival of old railway stations, is to bring the local communities back to places that were once part of their daily life, but also to highlight the cultural face of the railway.
