I was almost about to write that the umbrella is an object, a gadget, or whatever you say, in disuse, and go on to elaborate on writing a humble and clumsy epitaph, mine. But it is not like that, fashion, new designs and the specific need to protect ourselves in the middle of the street from an inopportune downpour have made me doubt. It doesn’t fail: four drops and those street vendors appear, providential and always alert, with their removable umbrellas. To use and throw away.
