Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko believes that Washington is increasing tension on the Korean Peninsula by making statements on Ukraine.
Rudenko commented on the US Congress’ calls for a military response if the presence of North Korean military in Ukraine is confirmed.
“I think that such statements should be classified as precisely those provocative statements that make the situation on the Korean Peninsula even more tense,” TASS quotes him.
Earlier, Russian Ambassador to South Korea Georgy Zinoviev said that Ukraine was trying to put pressure on the West with the help of “hysteria” about North Korean soldiers.
Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov noted that there is a lot of contradictory information regarding the “DPRK military in the Northwestern Military District zone.”
