Lucid has made available the upgraded Air, which is offered in three trim levels: Pure, Touring and Grand Touring. The base version – the Air Pure – now features a new 84.0 kWh battery, providing up to 420 miles (676 km) of EPA-estimated range on a single charge, with a price starting at $71,400.
The American company says that with an energy consumption of 5 miles of range per kilowatt-hour of energy (5 mi/kWh, which equals 12.4 kWh/100 km), its model is the most energy-efficient electric vehicle sold today, surpassing Hyundai Ioniq 6 and the Lexus RZ.
Next is the Air Touring version of the two electric motors and 620 hp, which is cheaper. It has a starting price of $79,400 and provides up to 406 miles (653 km) of range (EPA). The range-topping Air GT version provides the longest range at 512 miles (824 km), up from 485 miles (781 km), and starts at $111,400, while producing 812 horsepower. However, Lucid makes no mention of upgrading the drivetrain to its model.
Continuing, Lucid improves the Air’s infotainment, as it runs on a new processor with three times the power and twice the memory. It also makes the heat pump, first introduced on the Sapphire and added to the Grand Touring in late 2023, available from the base version, as well as all the driver assistance systems.
