The US administration opened an investigation into 2.6 million Tesla vehicles

The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into 2.6 million Tesla vehicles over reports of crashes suspected to have been caused by the remote control system.

Damaged drivers stated that, using this system, they had too little time to avoid a collision, reports Reuters.

The new investigation comes after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration launched an investigation into 2.4 million Tesla vehicles equipped with self-driving software in October last year after four reported crashes caused by the software.

As part of the current investigation, a smart system whose goal is to detect parked vehicles or objects is being tested, reports N1.
