NVIDIA brings us, one more week, a new publication from the AI Decoded seriesa complete selection of publications in which the technology company that has become one of the great references in the artificial intelligence ecosystem, addresses more or less known aspects of this revolutionary technology, either to explain to us in a simple and effective way how it works, or to show us multiple cases in which its use can make a big difference.
Such is the case this week, Regarding live audiovisual transmissionsa type of content that usually poses enormous technical complexity when we talk about any type of circumstance and/or event that requires immediacy, high quality image and sound and, at the same time, the necessary optimization so that said content can be delivered in a timely manner through the plethora of distribution channels through which it can be distributed.
NVIDIA’s proposal for this need, which was launched this week, is Holoscan for Media, a software-defined platform which takes full advantage of the local AI computing power of PCs and workstations equipped with components that support NVIDIA RTX, enabling the integration of certain AI-based tasks into common AI workflows, unlike some of the software traditionally used in these activities.
Holoscan for Media, whichhas just been announced by the companywill be on display at the IBC show, which will open its doors between September 13 and 16, and it will not be exclusively in the hands of NVIDIA, since the technology company will be accompanied by some of the most relevant software companies in the audiovisual sector, and which already have the first examples of implementation of this new platform in the workflows defined therein.
Thus, the company focuses on these three points:
- Functionality: allows developers to build media applications that process video in real time using AI to improve image and audio quality and automate tasks.
- Flexibility: The platform is “cloud-native,” meaning applications can be deployed in the cloud, on-premises, or at the edge without the need to create multiple versions.
- Compatibility: Works with NVIDIA RTX AI-powered workstations and PCs, optimized for graphics-intensive and AI processing tasks.
Thus, it is evident that NVIDIA has not only focused on this new platform provide the best possible resultshas also worked hard to ensure that its integration into the work of professionals in the sector is not affected by major changes in the way they work on a day-to-day basis.
