A fire broke out in the center of Milan, on the corner of Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and Via Beccaria, on the afternoon of November 8th. Firefighters managed to put out the flames using foam. Nobody was injured.
Shortly after 3pm today, Friday 8 November, from a grate on Corso Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan a column of black smoke rose and some flames came out from below street level, where a fire had just broken out. In a few moments, a crowd of tourists and passers-by formed around the building on the corner of Via Cesare Beccaria, not far from Piazza Duomo. As a precaution, the fire brigade teams arrived with eight vehicles from the command in via Messina evacuate several buildings in the areaincluding various shops. According to what we have learned so far, no one was injured or injured in any way. Local police officers are working together with A2A technicians to understand what caused the fire.
Some electrical cables damaged
What is known at the moment is that the fire is exploded in a basement of Corso Vittorio Emanuele and which damaged some electrical cables stretched up to Via Beccaria. Because of this, a temporary occurred black out. The interruption of the electricity supply kept entire buildings in the dark at least as far as Corso Europa.
The fire it would not have affected the subway or even the underground car park. The hypothesis is that the flames may have been generated following an electrical fault in one cabin or a meter. The smoke, in fact, was initially seen coming out of a grate located right in front of a shop.

Firefighters put out the fire, no one was injured
Within an hour, the firefighters are managed to put out the fire also using foam jets. The area in front of the arcades in the San Babila area was delimited by local police officers to prevent passers-by from being involved in any way.
The operations center of the Regional Emergency Urgency Agency (Areu) sent personnel to the scene healthcare workers with five vehicles, including three ambulances. According to what was communicated, no one would have needed to seek medical attentionneither due to intoxication nor to injuries of some kind.
