The water in 40 kilometers of the Danube and 50 kilometers of the Sava through Belgrade is of good quality for swimming, announced the City Institute for Public Health.
The institute checks it on the Danube and the Sava once or twice a month, water samples are taken from Lake Sava every Monday and Thursday, and on the Danube beach Lido in Zemun once a week, RTS reported and stated that the analyzes so far show that the water quality is very good. within the prescribed norm.
Danube water samples are taken near Batajnica and Vinča, and Sava water samples are taken near Obrenovac and Makiš. The City Institute for Public Health measures the physical and chemical parameters of the water in these samples and performs microbiological analysis.
Aljoša Tanasković from the City Institute for Public Health explained that the most important thing is how it is explained, that it does not happen swallowing water, which is sometimes difficult to explain to children.
All of this can lead to illness, that is, to infection, no matter how clean the water is because it is surface water, not pool water, said Tanasković.
He also said that the water temperature, which reaches 30 degrees, does not increase the presence of bacteria, and that the sun’s UV radiation has an antibacterial effect.
