The devastating floods in Spain, in which at least 211 people died, also put many locals in difficulty, who managed to escape with their lives. A Romanian truck driver told how he had to stay in the cab of the TIR for 3 days, during which he survived with the help of the locals, who brought him food.

Vasile, a Romanian driver whose truck was stuck for 3 days on the Pista de Silla highway in Valencia, told how the water reached the threshold of the cab of his truck.

“The water reached up to the top of the cabin. People climbed onto the roofs of the vans to reach the roofs of the factories. Families were getting out of their cars with crying children. I thought it was all over. After 12 o’clock at night, the water started to recede and then everything was over,” said the Romanian truck driver for the Spanish press, quoted by truth.

The Romanian confessed that he was shocked by the seriousness of the situation, especially in the conditions in which he was “in Israel and in the war in Yugoslavia”.

The locals helped him with food and water during the 3 days he stayed in the truck surrounded by water.
