The water temperature in swimming areas is maintained at +21 degrees

According to the Latvian Centre for Environment, Geology and Meteorology, the water temperature in rivers, lakes and coastal areas of Latvia is around +20 degrees.

The temperature of sea water on the Latvian coast is +17…+20 degrees.

The water temperature in the largest lakes is generally +19…+21 degrees.

In most rivers, the water temperature still exceeds +16 degrees. In the Aivieksta, Salaca and Venta rivers, it is about +19 degrees, in the Daugava and Lielupe it is up to +21 degrees, and in the Gauja it is about +17 degrees.

The water level in the rivers fluctuates slightly, mostly decreasing. Aquatic vegetation is present almost along the entire length of the rivers, while coastal vegetation is found mainly in steeper areas. In some places, aquatic plants begin to take hold on the bottom.

Dry and summer-like warm weather is expected in Latvia until next week, so the water temperature will change slightly and the water level will generally decrease.
