Head coach Vladimir Golovin was only satisfied with the first 17 minutes of the women’s handball team’s warm-up match in Győr, in which they beat Slovenia 28-27.

“In the first 17 minutes, we played the same game as in Slovenia, but then it lasted for 60 minutes. Today, after 17 minutes, neither the defense nor the attack worked properly, even though the same people were on the field as on Tuesday,” said the manager.

The Hungarians won 31-21 in Rogla on Tuesday, and on Saturday they led 14-5 after 17 minutes, but in the continuation they made quite a few mistakes and finally won by only one hit. It was more of an individual game, and maybe the desire to prove things worked in the girls because of the home field, which resulted in this – stated Golovin.

He emphasized that it was not a problem with concentration, because his team had chances, but the players wanted to finish them very precisely and hit the post many times. In the running back, they mostly dealt with what happened in attack, even though “that is already history”, there you always have to pay attention to what will follow. This can be attributed to the fact that they lost their confidence somewhat, and there was a phase of the match when they always finished their attacks within ten seconds, explained the coach.

We really wanted to, but we need to think a little more. Fatigue must have also played a role in not being able to perform as we wanted for about 45 minutes, but when do we load them, but now? – He told. He thought about the preparation so far: they are satisfied, they have no reason to complain, because what they planned was done in full, but the next week will be completely different.

Simon Petra told MTI about the training match that started at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday: it went very well for them, they were tactically very disciplined, everything went pretty much the way they wanted, and everyone was able to model the agenda before the early start, since they will also have two meetings at the Olympics. which they play from 9 o’clock.

The manager of Ferencváros stated that the period of their preparation so far has been very successful both physically and tactically. On Tuesday, they managed to keep everything they had agreed, and although they tried to bring the same form on Saturday, the Slovenians changed some things.

“It was a completely different match, but we won both, which is very positive for us,” he explained. According to the player of the youth and junior European champion, this time after the 17th minute, they could not take advantage of their opportunities, they missed many shots, they did not play disciplined in defense, they were in a hurry, so their goalkeepers got shots.

What I can highlight from the entire match is that we kept the advantage throughout. There have been times when this didn’t work out, but we have to keep this good habit of ours – said Simon. According to his opinion, by the time the Olympics start, they need to get used to each other more, they need to play and train in several formations, their defense must be tight, and this must hold even during the ups and downs, when goals do not come easily in attack.

“If our defense is tight, then I don’t think we will have any problems in the matches in the long run,” said Simon.
