Just like two days earlier against the Slovaks, the first few minutes were more about attacking play. Based on the possession of the Hungarian national team, they advanced to 8-3 with a few quick goals, Viktória Győri-Lukács scored three times in the first ten minutes. And Katrin Klujber delighted the audience first with an eye-popping ball and the subsequent cheeky finish, and then with an empty net goal from her own penalty area.

Barely a quarter of an hour had passed and he had already scored ten goals (13-3), and Luca Csíkos made his debut in the national team. The ten-goal gap remained stable, and the Hungarian advantage shifted at the start of the first half, under the leadership of right winger Győri-Lukács, who scored nine times until the break, who scored as many times as the entire Ukrainian national team before the break.

In the second half, Vladimir Golovin’s team was able to increase its advantage by calmly playing handball, while Nikolett Tóth, who made his debut two days ago, also scored his first goal for the national team. Approaching the last quarter of an hour, the pace slowed down, the Ukrainians were able to get closer, and in the first half the hosts shook themselves again and finally won a superior victory with 19 goals.

In the continental competition jointly organized by Hungary-Austria-Switzerland, the Hungarians will face Turkey on Thursday, Sweden on Saturday, and North Macedonia on December 2 in the group stage, both starting at 6 p.m. in the Főnix Arena. The first two places advance to the semi-finals, also in Debrecen.
