The remarkable collection of the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, reached astonishing proportions already in 2007, as it consisted of 2,788 cars – since then the collection has only continued to grow, but no exact data has been published, only estimates. According to them, in the last 17 years, the number of cars may have exceeded 7,000, based on which it cannot be ruled out that it is the largest collection in the world.
For this very reason, the collection was closed off from the wider world decades ago, but on Sunday evening two Instagram accounts – itt and itt – leaked a lot of pictures of him. The photos reflect the state of the early 2000s, and as mentioned in the Drive reported, until now only a narrow group had access to them, but one of its members decided to make them public after a recent clash.
The Sultan has led the country since 1967, but Prince Jefri Bolkiah and his son started collecting cars in the 1990s. Later, however, the prince was caught embezzling, which led to the liquidation of most of the previous collection – some cars were sold, probably in order to cover the billions in debt incurred in private and public wealth funds.
Of course, the royal fleet included a number of unique models, which were made especially for the order of the Sultan. One of the most prominent of them was the Bentley Dorminator, but the Ferrari 456 GT station wagon and the Bugatti EB110 SS also grab the attention just as much. By the way, a link to a Google Drive folder of about 1 GB was also shared about the collection, but it was later deleted.
If even this is not enough, there are also gems that Vezess has already written about, such as the modified Lamborghini LM002, but there are also similar rarities from Aston Martin and Mercedes.
