In addition to various Intel and AMD HEDT platforms, the “specific gravity” novelty can also be combined with Ampere Altra processors.
Arctic, known for its fairly good price/value ratio motorcycles, presented the second revision of the Freezer 4U-M processor cooler, which is sized for 4U high racks, which with noble simplicity is the “Rev. 2” suffixed to its name and weighs no less than 1.275 kilograms when fully assembled.
The aluminum ribs of the 145 mm high, 155.15 mm wide, and 124 mm deep construction are skewered by eight heat conducting pipes with a diameter of 6 mm, which are in direct contact with the CPU cap. Two 120 mm fans with double ball bearings are attached to the 57 blades in a push-pull configuration, whose revolutions per minute can be regulated in the range from 400 to 2300 thanks to the four-pin control. The blades can move up to 122.16 m³ of air per hour (71.9 cfm), for which 3.3 mmH₂O static pressure and a noise load of 40 dB are associated.
Packaged with a 0.8 gram Arctic MX-6 syringe, the solution can be mounted on Intel LGA4189, LGA4677 and AMD Socket SP6, SP3, sTR5, sTRX4 and sWRX8 sockets, however, with an optional mounting kit – or by adding the special edition to the cart – the LGA4926-packaged ARM Ampere Altra can also be moved to central units. The pricing of the product is as follows:
- Freezer 4U-M Rev. 2 – 65 euros
- Ampere mounting kit – 9 euros
- Freezer 4U-M Ampere – 67 euros
