In terms of weight, the new Mix Fold 4 does not exceed the 226 grams, so it weighs as much as Honor’s Magic V3 and is almost as thin – 4.59mm unfolded and 9.47mm folded. Xiaomi chose to combine the curved frame design with tapering sides on the aluminum frame.
The internal structure of the Mix Fold 4 features high strength carbon fiber T800H which is extremely lightweight while offering a 300% improvement in impact resistance compared to the Mix Fold 3.
This is also the first Xiaomi foldable with an IPX8 rating, making it waterproof up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
There is a 6.56-inch LTPO OLED display with FHD+ resolution, 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 21:9 aspect ratio. But the magic element in this device is the 7.98-inch main panel that is made of Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) and also features FHD+ resolution and an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120Hz. Xiaomi claims both displays can deliver a maximum brightness of up to 3,000 nits and each has a 20MP front-facing camera.
Like its recent foldable competitors, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 brings Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset to the mix with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.
Also, the Mix Fold 4 brings a Leica quad camera setup with Summilux lenses.
More specifically, the main shooter features a 23mm equivalent 50MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture and OIS. You also get a 50MP 2x (47mm) portrait sensor and a 10MP periscope with 5x optical zoom and a 115mm equivalent lens. The fourth camera sensor on the back is a 12MP equivalent 15mm ultra-wide lens.
In terms of firmware, the Mix Fold 4 runs Xiaomi HyperOS based on Android 14 and has a battery Xiaomi Surge 5,100mAh with 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
For its prospective buyers, the new Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is available in black, white and blue colors. The price starts from 8.999 CNY (1.237 $) for the investment 12/256 GB and that’s enough 9.999 CNY (1.375 $) for the issue 16/512 GB and 10.999 CNY (1.513 $) for the top version with Mix Fold 16 GB3AM and 1TB storage.
