This weekend the Youth ‘A’ of Sala 5 Martorell starts the league competition of the 2024-25 season. Tomorrow Saturday (4:00 p.m.) the Municipal Sports Pavilion will be the scene of a very exciting first day, where the team from Martorell will receive the visit of the reigning league champion: Industrias Santa Coloma. The last precedent between both teams was in the semi-finals of the previous edition of the Copa Catalunya, when the reds prevailed in the penalty shootout.
The youngster from Martorell, who is once again under the command of coach Ferran Maya, starts a new season tomorrow in the Division of National Honor category, the fourth consecutive that the red entity lives at the highest level of state futsal in youth categories Last year, Sala 5 finished the league competition in a creditable fifth place, with a record of 19 wins and 11 losses, and this year they will try to improve on these good results.
The team’s coach, Ferran Maya, assures that they face this first day of the league “with a lot of excitement and a lot of desire. We have had 28 pre-season training sessions and all the players have done a very good job. We are really looking forward to kicking off at home against a great rival and also on the day of the club’s presentation. We hope that many people will come to cheer us on and have a very good match”.

For this season, Sala 5 Youth ‘A’ will have six new faces in its squad: Unai (from Penya Esplugues); Rayan (FS Sant Andreu de la Barca); Pol López (Barça); and Daniel Rodríguez (Covisa Manresa). In addition, Jan Beumala and Jordi Delgado have joined the team, coming from the Youth ‘B’ of the entity.
Next Sunday, the people from Martorell will travel to the track of Club Natació Sabadell to play (at 12.15pm) the second day of the league. The first long journey that Ferran Maya’s team will have to make will be on the sixth day, when they will visit the Illes Balears Palma Futsal court (Saturday 19 October, 1.00pm).
