There is a concrete plan for Altera’s future

There is currently no talk of a complete sale of the division separated from Intel, but the current lineup will not remain either.

At the beginning of the month, we wrote about the outline of the first major steps of Intel’s reorganization, in the framework of which the sale of Altera could become a priority. We already raised the possibility of this in the case of the already separated department in mid-August, but for the time being, those involved would like to resolve the situation differently.

Sandra Rivera, president and CEO of the largely independent Altera a CRN for him, he stated that the entire company will not be sold, but it will be possible to buy shares in it. In principle, the longer-term strategy has already been prepared, and the owners are currently committed to it, as part of which the primary share issue may take place in 2026.

By the way, Altera is not yet structurally completely separated from Intel, but this will not remain the case, as it will actually become independent from the beginning of 2025 as part of the reorganization. With this, the separation also takes place in terms of general and administrative functions, so the giant company from Santa Clara will be considered a classic parent company.
