The credit volume of the banking sector decreased by 41 billion 557 million liras in the week of July 19 and fell to 13 trillion 915 billion 501 million liras.
According to the weekly bulletin of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), the sector’s credit volume decreased by 41 billion 557 million lira as of July 19. During the period in question, the credit volume decreased from 13 trillion 957 billion 58 million lira to 13 trillion 915 billion 501 million lira.
Total deposits in the banking sector, including interbank deposits, increased by 74 billion 128 million lira last week and reached 16 trillion 747 billion 35 million lira.
THE AMOUNT OF CONSUMER CREDITS REACHED 1 TRILLION 729.3 BILLION LIRA
The amount of consumer loans decreased by 11 billion 431 million lira to 1 trillion 729 billion 272 million lira as of July 19. Of this amount, 448 billion 389 million lira was housing, 87 billion 406 million lira was vehicle and 1 trillion 193 billion 477 million lira was consumer loans.
During this period, the amount of commercial installment loans increased by 13 billion 736 million liras and reached 1 trillion 734 billion 887 million liras.
Banks’ individual credit card receivables also decreased by 1.6 percent to 1 trillion 461 billion 786 million lira. Of individual credit card receivables, 518 billion 404 million lira were installment debts, while 943 billion 381 million lira were non-installment debts.
LEGAL OWNERSHIP INCREASED
As of July 19, the outstanding receivables in the banking sector increased by 13 billion 323 million lira compared to the previous week and reached 238 billion 385 million lira. Special provisions were set aside for 180 billion 901 million lira of outstanding receivables.
In the same period, the legal equity capital of the banking system increased by 20 billion 638 million lira and reached 3 trillion 23 billion 363 million lira.
The KKM balance decreased by 3.1 percent and 60 billion 908 million liras last week to 1 trillion 881 billion 707 million liras, indicating the strongest decrease since the beginning of the year when the data began to be announced.
