The tiny rodent was found in a passenger’s food, which forced the flight between Oslo and Malaga to cut short and land in Copenhagen. The incident was reported by the airline’s spokesperson, Øystein Schmidt confirmed on Friday.

After Wednesday’s incident, the passengers were transferred to another plane to continue their journey to Spain. In order to thoroughly examine the machine, the original airplane had to be replaced.

A rare event

“Such cases are extremely rare” Schmidt said. He added that the airline follows strict protocols in such situations, including a thorough search of the plane.

Happy passengers

However, the unexpected situation did not spoil the mood of the passengers. Jarle Børrestad, who bought a ticket for the aforementioned flight, shared his experience on his social media page: “Unbelievable, but true! The lady sitting next to me opened her food and a mouse jumped out.” she wrote, attaching a photo of her and two other women posing smiling after the strange incident.

The airline emphasized that they will do everything to ensure that such a case does not happen again. They also launched an investigation at their suppliers to ensure that similar situations are avoided in the future.

Although this incident was unusual, luckily no one was hurt and the passengers eventually arrived safely at their destination.
