There was a problem with double debiting of funds in Sberbank terminals – RBC

The publication clarified that clients of various banks have been reporting double debits for several days. One of RBC’s interlocutors said that clients who paid for purchases at Sberbank POS terminals encountered problems.

Another source of the publication noted that double debits were only for Visa payment system cards. It left the Russian market; card payments in Russia go through the National Payment Card System (NSCP). Another interlocutor said that write-offs were mainly for bank clients processing clearing files (confirming payments) several times a day.

The NSPK informed the source of the publication that it had sent a letter to banks in which they talked about what happened. From the NSPK side, everything worked as usual, they clarified there.

To problems from Sberbank also indicated at the Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development. IN “Raiffeisenbank” and the bank “Zenith“Noted that they were not involved in the error and promised to return the money to customers with double debits.
