“There was no goal at Olaru!”

Darius Olaru opened the scoring with an alleged “ghost” goal, and the specialist gave the verdict from the most controversial phase in FCSB – Unirea Slobozia 3-0.

On Sunday evening, FCSB received the visit of Uniria Slobozia in the 17th round of the Superliga. The Romanian champion did not repeat the mistake of FC Botoșani and quickly opened the scoring through Darius Olaru. The captain’s success was challenged by the guests after the ball seemed to not have entered the goal with all its circumference, and after the VAR analysis, the center validated the goal.

Marius Avram gave his verdict on the “ghost” goal scored by Darius Olaru: “It’s not valid”

The specialist’s verdict contradicts the decision taken by the VAR in the start of the match FCSB – Unirea Slobozia. The red-blue midfielder shot hard at the goal and the lobbed ball hit the crossbar after which it fell on the goal line and returned to the playing area. Initially, center George Roman let the game continue but at the first interruption of the match, VAR intervened and Cătălin Popa decided that the goal was valid.

Former referee Marius Avram analyzed very carefully the phase of the first goal scored by FCSB and announced that the decision was wrong.

“It’s a phase in speed, we don’t have the right angle, we also have a zoom, there’s another angle behind the goal, when the ball falls. If I’m going to do an analysis, I can’t say if it was empty or not. Some, might say, yes, others, no. To be a valid goal, the ball must pass the goal line with its entire circumference.

It is inexplicable why he reversed the decision from the field, where the goal was not awarded. Normally, the VAR should not have reversed the decision to award the goal. Those in VAR don’t have other images and then, if you don’t have certainty, how did you award the goal? There are no secret rooms, let’s get this over with.

My impression is that it is not valid blank. At least some of the circumference of the ball catches a bit of the goal line. What happens to the ball after it hits the ground is also important. Intuitively, it seems that it was not empty”, said Marius Avram, la Digisport.

Cristi Balaj, harsh reaction about Olaru’s goal: “The choices were more correct than that goal”

Former referee Cristi Balaj and the current president of CFR Cluj harshly criticized the decision made by VAR in favor of the red-blues. Cristi Balaj was dissatisfied with the fact that mistakes are being made in favor of the opponent for the title.

“I turned off the TV. I moved the schedule. I looked at politics. I found it more interesting. I came to believe that the election was fairer than that gap. When the ball hits the bar, it also hits the ground, it means that it didn’t go all the way into the goal. From the images that have appeared, it does not appear that the ball passed with the entire circumference. The bar is the same thickness as the goal line. If you touched the crossbar, you also touched the goal line. From the images that exist, in no image does it appear that the ball is beyond the goalpost, the crossbar,” said Cristi Balaj, according to Fans.

FCSB scored two more goals through Daniel Bîrligea and David Miculescu, settling in 5th place, at the end of the 17 stages of the Super League, only 3 points behind the leader Universitatea Cluj.
