More than 40,000 people from more than 10 countries in Europe and America, eager to connect with relaxation, came especially, between October 7-27, to Therme Bucharest, for Sauna festivalthe biggest sauna show festival in the world and the only one of its kind in Romania. The 6th edition of the festival attracted Romanians from all corners of the country as well as foreigners, the percentage of the latter rising to almost 33%.
The foreign festivalgoers came from countries such as the Netherlands, Great Britain, Italy, Germany, Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece, the USA, Spain, Estonia or Denmark.

The number of tourists who visited Therme Bucharest set a new record and I think we have become one of the most relevant tourist attractions that the capital has. The festival also has an educational role, i.e. it teaches you how important and healthy it is to feed your mind and soul, but also to be vulnerable in front of other people. The new program of wellness activities adapted to the cold season
Sauna Festival 2024 opened the doors to a new program of wellness activities adapted to the cold season, activities included in the Therme access fee. The new program offers experiences focused on acclimatization, preparing the body for the challenges of the cold season, specific therapies for skin health and sessions dedicated to improving lung capacity. As the temperatures drop, these special rituals help the body make the transition to winter, fortifying the body’s resistance and supporting respiratory functions. Each treatment is designed to stimulate immunity, skin rejuvenation and regeneration, and the sauna and Aufguss sessions curated by the best international masters help not only to relax the mind and body, but also to increase lung capacity and a natural protection against the cold. Nature was and will always be the primary source of inspiration for the universe of Therme Bucharest experiences. Thus it began the program of winter activitieswhich comes with new activities and rituals – Sirocco, Almond Beauty, Dalchini, Cocha Cashu, and specific activities are available in the new Ad Astra and A Terra saunas – Solar Wind, ForeGlow, FreeStyle, Herbarium, Smoke Ritual. From Monday to Thursday, visitors will benefit from 47 wellness activities per day, while from Friday to Sunday the number of activities included in the access fee rises to 58.
With the inauguration of the 2 new panoramic saunas, Ad Asta and A Terra, the simultaneous capacity of the Therme saunas has increased to over 470 places, but the number of Aufguss activities developed at the same time has also increased so that visitors can choose their preferred experience at any time.

Time of 21 for days the Therme themed saunas were the scenes of the most spectacular sauna shows performed by the best Aufguss Masters in the world. They were the participants’ guides on a journey of the senses, through special techniques that naturally combine storytelling with theater, music and sauna. Edition from this year brought to Bucharest over 80 Aufguss masters from 20 countries who delighted the public with over 500 unique rituals. Also, on the occasion of this event, two new saunas were inaugurated in the Elysium area, with a total capacity of over 140 seats – Ad Astra and A Terra.
“It was transformative! The experiences here have transformed me as a person, and changed my perspective on self-love.” testified James, a 30-year-old who came all the way from Great Britain, exclusively for this unique event.
Another highlight of Sauna Fest 2024 were themed saunaseach with its own relaxation universe: Bavaria, Provence, Hollywood, Alhambra, Amazon, Himalayas. Added to these the 2 new saunas, Ad Astra yes A Terra, built from scratch on the occasion of the 6th edition of Sauna Fest, which supplements the capacity of the largest sauna ensemble in Romania with 140 seats. These innovative spaces combine modern design with state-of-the-art technology to create a unique and captivating atmosphere, in line with the demands of both domestic sauna lovers and international guests.
Having already become an international reference event, Sauna Fest is the only festival in the world that dedicates 21 days exclusively to this art. The shows in the sauna took place hour by hour, starting from the early hours of the morning until late at night. Visitors reiterated that this festival deserves its global recognition.
Thus, with thousands of international tourists as guests, but also with invited specialists from all over the world, Therme has once again put Bucharest on the global map of wellness destinations.
Sauna Fest, already known by international tourists, is the only wellness event from Romania that rivals in scale with famous festivals from our country.
