The Greek Police, following an order from the Athens District Attorney’s Office, have released the identity details and photographs of 8 members of a criminal organization that committed thefts and robberies from old people’s homes pretending to be employees of an electricity company or elevator maintenance workers or gardeners in various regions of Attica.
More specifically, criminal proceedings were brought against them for the offenses of forming, joining and directing a criminal organization, aggravated theft, committed and attempted, by two or more perpetrators, who had organized with the purpose of committing theft and commit theft by profession , with a total value of the removed objects, which exceeds the amount of 120,000 euros, by accessory after the fact and for robbery by accessory.
It is noted that on November 7, a police operation was carried out in its areas Tribal, of Ano Liosia and of Zephyr.
As it emerged from the preliminary investigation, the defendants, at least from February 2024, had set up and joined a group with continuous action, moving in groups consisting of two to five people.
As for their mode of action, the members of the organization were searching houses where elderly people lived who possibly being persuaded by the tricks they used, in order to break into their homes and by the method of employment to complete their criminal acts.
When they were spotted, they were approached by pretending to be power company employees, elevator maintenance men, or gardeners.
Sometimes when victims became aware of their criminal intent, they did not hesitate to use physical violence in order to keep the loot.
From the searches carried out in the houses and in their possession, the following were found and confiscated:
– a lot of jewelry,
– the monetary amount of -14,015- euros,
– 15 mobile phones and
– 4 vehicles.
From the preliminary investigation so far they have been cleared -9- cases of theft and robbery in Glyfada, Kypseli, Kolonos, Agios Panteleimonas, Ampelokipis, Kifissia, Galatsi, Agios Anargyros and Zografou.
It is noted that the defendants have in the past involved the authorities for similar crimes, while some have served sentences in the country’s detention centers.
Those arrested were taken to the Athens District Attorney.

SAMPANI Panagiotis of Christos and Marina, born on 17-4-1981 in Athens,
SILVER Alexander of Argyrio and Olympia, born on 5-8-1985 in Athens,
KARACHALIO Alexio of Athanasios and Antonia, born on 19-11-1979 in Nikaia Attica,
ASIMAKI Konstantinos of Alexander and Maria, born on 29-7-1987 in Greece.
This specific publication, in accordance with the relevant Prosecutor’s Order, aims to detect and prosecute crimes of a similar nature that have been committed by the above defendants and their accomplices at the expense of other victims and to prevent a threat to public safety in relation to the above crimes, as well as for the protection of society from such criminal acts.
