Even with a dirt-cheap Android phone you can browse, WhatsApp and stream a series. In this article we list the best smartphones for around 100 euros.
The best smartphones for around 100 euros
At the end of last year we listed the best smartphones for under 100 euros. In 2024, there will still be Android phones available that cost less than 100 euros, but with which you can easily use apps, calls and emails. Ideal if you do (very) little with your smartphone and only need it for basic tasks.
Of course you have to take a number of things into account. These dirt-cheap smartphones are not the fastest, receive fewer Android updates and offer few extras. For example, you really shouldn’t expect miracles from the cameras. Nevertheless, there are a number of excellent options, which we will discuss below – in no particular order.
1.Motorola Moto E14
The Moto E14 is Motorola’s cheapest smartphone at the moment: you only pay €79. The device looks quite neat, is available in several colors and has a water-repellent housing. This means that you can also use it in the rain. There is even a layer of Gorilla Glass 3 to protect against scratches.
At 6.56 inches, the screen is large enough to watch films and series. The resolution of 1612 by 720 pixels is not great, but the higher refresh rate of 90Hz is a bonus. Due to the simple Unisoc processor, you will still occasionally see glitches.
However, that chip is fast enough to stream Netflix, browse, email and look up something on the internet. The 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space are not left over, although you can expand the storage yourself with a micro SD card. However, the 5000 mAh battery lasts a long time and charges with 15 watts.
The Motorola Moto E14 runs on Android 14 (Go), a special version of the operating system for smartphones with slower hardware. It is not clear how long the device will receive updates. We do know that the Moto E14 takes photos with the 13 megapixel camera on the back, which can also film in full HD.
2. Xiaomi Redmi A3
The Xiaomi Redmi A3 is particularly notable for its large 6.71-inch screen (90Hz), on which you can easily watch Netflix and Videoland. Due to the resolution of 1650 by 720 pixels, the image is not very sharp, but we can live with that given the low price.
In addition, we think the Redmi A3 looks remarkably good. The device looks quite luxurious and has a glass back, which we don’t often see in this price segment. There is even a version with a faux leather back for sale, so the Redmi A3 definitely does not feel cheap.
Under the hood is a MediaTek Helio G36 processor, which is faster than the chip in the Motorola above. In addition, there is more RAM (4GB) and storage space (128GB). The 8 megapixel camera on the back, on the other hand, is less good.
It is useful that the Redmi A3 has a fingerprint scanner and facial recognition. The cheap device runs on Android 14 and, according to Xiaomi, will receive two major Android updates and three years of security patches. That is very neat in this price range. You can buy the Redmi A3 for €79.
3. Motorola Moto G24 Power
The Motorola Moto G24 Power may not cost 100 euros, but if you spend two bucks more you really get a better device. The smartphone has a huge 6000 mAh battery, which also charges relatively quickly at 30 watts. The battery easily lasts two days, so you never have to worry about running out of power.
The Moto G24 Power is also better in terms of camera. The device has a real 50 megapixel main camera and a macro lens. The screen is 6.56 inches – just like the Moto E14 – and has the same HD resolution.
The MediaTek processor is not a great processor, but the amount of RAM (8GB) and storage (256GB) is very impressive for this price range. You can also count on a fingerprint scanner, dual SIM support and stereo speakers. The G24 Power runs on Android 14 and will receive an update to Android 15.

4. HMD Pulse Plus
Finally, we would like to mention the HMD Pulse Plus. This smartphone, which you can buy for €119, has no special specifications, but it still stands out. The device has a repairable housing, so you can replace the back, battery, USB-C port and screen yourself. Ideal if you want to use your phone for a long time.
The Pulse Plus can also withstand a splash of water and has a 5000 mAh battery that charges at 10 watts. Under the hood we see a Unisoc processor with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space. The screen is 6.56 inches.
Furthermore, the HMD phone takes quite nice photos with the 50 megapixel main camera, which also has a night mode. There is an 8 megapixel selfie camera on the front. The Pulse Plus runs on a bare version of Android 14 and will receive updates to Android versions 15 and 16 in the future. Security updates will also be released until April 2027.
