WhatsApp launches color themes in the latest update of its iPhone app
WhatsApp has launched a new update to its iPhone app that represents the biggest design change to date. A few months ago, WhatsApp already updated its design deeply, but the new function available will allow users to use color themes in their chatsgiving the app a completely new touch.
We have known for a long time that WhatsApp was working on these color themes, but now they have become official. The version 24.20.71 of the WhatsApp app for iOS allows you to choose between one of 20 different themes. This version has been launched in the App Store with this new function, although not all users have it active at the moment.
Color themes come to WhatsApp
With this new feature, WhatsApp offers users up to 22 different themes and 20 colors to choose frommaking customization much deeper than it has been before. Using these themes we will not only change the chat background, as before, but also the message bubble color.
WhatsApp will automatically set a wallpaper based on the color of the bubbles of the messages we have chosen, although we can change this background to our liking. These themes are individual and personal, so changing them on our iPhone will not cause them to be changed in our contacts’ chat.
WhatsApp already allows many users to change the theme with different colors
In order to change the WhatsApp theme we must enter the section Application settings in the chats section, from where we can select a default chat theme which will apply to all WhatsApp chats. Another option available is to change the topic of a single chat, something that can make it easier to differentiate between personal chats, work chats, and group chats. Each one can be a different color. This can be done by entering each chat and tapping on the name of the contact or group chat.
Keep in mind that this version of WhatsApp is coming to the App Store, as indicate from WABetaInfo. Furthermore, even if you have WhatsApp updated to the latest version, it is likely that this function will not appear yet. This is because WhatsApp is activating it in stages. So, if you don’t have color themes in WhatsApp yet, you will have to wait a few days for this function to be activated.
This feature is currently available to a limited number of users through the App Store app and TestFlight, including those participating in the beta program. WhatsApp is rolling out the themes gradually to gather feedback and ensure optimal performance before a broader rollout.
After WhatsApp’s big September update, the messaging app has surprised us all with this new function that the app has been developing for several months, We didn’t expect it to be released so soon.. It thus joins other recent WhatsApp functions, such as filters and backgrounds for video calls that have also been available for a few days.
